Celebrating our 67's Seniors

On March 4th, 2023, the Jr. 67's took on the Brampton Canadettes in their Senior Game at Sandy Hill Arena to celebrate the 10 players graduating from the 67's program. The team played a great game, supporting each other to an 8-2 win, with 5 seniors getting points and senior goalie Mya Lamorea standing tall for the Senior Game win. 

Congratulations Seniors! The Ottawa Lady 67’s Program, Coaches, and your teammates are very proud of you and wish you all the best in your future endeavours.

 

#6 Nicole Walsh

Nicole started playing hockey at the age of 5. She has played defence as a 67 for the last few seasons, however started her hockey career as a right winger. Her favourite thing about hockey is the friendships she has made over the years, with her favourite memory of this season being the team mock court at the NAHA tournament. In the fall, Nicole plans to go to university to study psychology. Congratulations Nicole!

 

#7 Taylor Eastwood, Captain

Taylor is a 2 year defender for the Jr. 67's and started playing minor hockey at the age of 4. She loves hockey because of all of the memories she has made and the people she has met along the way. Her favourite hockey moment this season was our first mock court session at the NAHA tournament. In the fall, Taylor is attending Queens University where she is committed to play U-SPORTS for the Queens Gaels. Congratulations Taylor!

 

 

#12 Peyton Gray

Peyton is a 2 year forward for the Jr. 67's. She started playing hockey at the age of 7. The thing she loves most about hockey is the amount of life long friendships and memories that the experience has given her. Her favourite hockey moment this season with the 67’s was "Pencil" and when her and Keara taped people’s equipment together. In the fall, Peyton plans on going to university to study business. Congratulations Peyton!

 

 

#21 Halle Helperl, Assistant Captain,

Halle started playing hockey at the age of 4. She played left wing almost her whole life, but two years ago switched to centre and has played centre this season for the Jr. 67's. The thing she loves most about hockey is the lifelong connections and friendships as well as the competitive aspects. She says no friends compare to the ones you meet at hockey, and she says she will always cherish the connections she has made though the years. Her favourite memory this season as a 67 was going to Boston with the team. She had never been there, so getting a chance to play there for the weekend was really fun. Halle hasn’t decided where she will attend university in the fall, but she is looking forward to studying media or marketing. Congratulations Halle!


 

#22 Hannah Greer

Hannah is a defender who started playing hockey at the age of 3 years old. Hannah says that what she loves most about hockey is the team community and positive environment. Her favourite hockey moment this season was singing the winning song in the dressing room for the first time after the team’s first win. In the fall, Hannah will be studying civil engineering at the Royal Military College. Congratulations Hannah!

 

#46 Keara Merriman, Assistant Captain

Keara started skating when she was 2 in Nunavut and started organized hockey at the age of 3 while living in the Middle East. She says that the thing she loves most about hockey is the memories that she made. Her favourite hockey memory this season was "Pencil" and driving in the vans on away trips. Keara will be attending the University of Ottawa in the fall to study Physics and Math while playing U-SPORTS as an Ottawa U Gee-Gee. Congratulations Keara!

 

#51 Mya Lamorea 

Mya started playing hockey at the age of 11 and joined the 67's program this season as a goalie. Her favourite thing about hockey is being competitive. Her favourite memory this
season as a 67 was playing at the NAHA tournament in Boston. In the fall Mya is planning to go to college or university. Congratulations Mya!

 

#61 Fred Alary 

Fred started playing hockey when she was 5 years old and joined the 67's this season on defence. She says that the thing she loves most about hockey is all the friendships it gave her and considers them her second family. Fred’s favourite hockey memory this season was all of the league road trips in the mini vans. In the fall, Fred will be going to university to study medical sciences. Congratulations Fred!

 

 

#81 Bella Vincent 

Bella has been playing hockey since she was 8 years old. She is a long time member of the 67's program and two year forward for the Jr. 67's. What she loves most about hockey is how it is a
competitive, team playing sport and that she has met some of her best friends within the game. Her favourite moment this season was our first away weekend together as a team. In the fall Bella is attending U Ottawa to study criminology. Congratulations Bella!

 

 

#87 Manny Gendron, Assistant Captain

Manny began her hockey career at the age of 10 years old. She has played forward as both a right and left winger and is a 2 year player for the Jr. 67's. She
says that what she loves most about hockey is that she has a second family and is making memories that will last a lifetime. Her favourite hockey moments this season was her travel weekends for league games in the team vans. Manny will be heading to Holy Cross College in Massachusetts this fall where she will play Division 1 hockey for the Holy Cross Crusaders. Congratulations Manny!
